In Microsoft Teams (MS Teams for short) or Teams Phone, only one phone number can be assigned to a user at a time.

However, this restriction can be circumvented for incoming calls using call forwarding. To do this, simply set up a call forwarding rule for each additional phone number to the number assigned to the user.

If you use a phone number block with Easybell, you can easily extract individual extensions and then configure them with such call forwarding.

These extracted extensions can be set up and configured in just a few steps.

1. Open the phone settings

First, please go to my.easybell.

There, please click on “Phone Settings” in the left-hand menu bar.

Alternatively, you can also click on “Manage Phone Numbers” directly in the my.easybell dashboard.

2. Manage phone numbers

The phone settings for businesses are divided into two tabs: Connections and Phone Numbers.

Please switch to the "Phone Numbers" tab.

3. Add an extension

Please click on the number block whose numbers you use in Teams.

In the details of the number block, click on “Add Extension” and then follow the setup steps.

You can find detailed instructions under “Create extracted extensions.”

It is important that you later assign the extracted phone number to a different connection than the one you use in Microsoft Teams. We recommend creating a new connection right away.

4. Open connection configuration

Now please go back to "Phone Settings" and click on the connection to which you assigned the extracted extension.

In the connection details, click "Change" under "Configuration."

5. Set up call forwarding

In the "Call Forwarding & Parallel Ringing" section, please set up unconditional call forwarding.

To activate this, check "Forward all calls immediately and unconditionally" and enter the extension of the team member who should receive incoming calls on this extracted extension under "Forward calls to."
